prem CS3-video stutters or freezes on playback of dv pal footage

i can't get the timeline program monitor to playback smoothly, yet the source monitor has perfect playback. I have the latest drivers for all the hardware, everything worked fine on prem pro 1.5, does anyone else have this problem or even better, a cure? I'm just capturing ordinary mini dv pal footage, but it's becoming impossible to edit. checked on the adobe forum & it seems lots of other people have the same problem - it's mainly people with nvidia cards (but not exclusively) who are having this issue. have tried every conceivable playback setting, with no luck. i'm using dual monitors but this isn't the issue cause it still freezes when i try it with one monitor. Seems like a bug that needs sorting soon cause at the moment cs3 is unusable. Any adobe angels out there wana throw any light on this?

have tried all the different quality settings but same problem. As i say the source monitor plays footage perfectly, the problem is using the timeline monitor - if it was the other way around at least i could edit ok. Many other people are having the same problem with very high spec computers, I do believe it is a glitch between prem cs3 & some video cards - nvidia mainly, though the nvidia geforce 7300 gs card in the pc at work doesn't have this problem with prem cs3. Hopefully adobe have a solution, I've emailed this query to adobe technical support but i've not received a reply yet.
Presumed some people here may have the same problem?

just thought i'd report back with my solution to this, although judging by the lack of response i'm presuming nobody else has had this problem. anyway just in case it helps somebody -
using nvidia 6600gt agp card with dual monitors - the most recent drivers do not work well with prempro cs3, i had to go back to the drivers that came with my graphics card back in 2006. also downloading the latest version of directx helps. now i can play properly from the timeline & view my footage through the program monitor at highest quality.
for some reason adobe has missed something as regards older graphics cards with later drivers, i managed to gleen this from a lot of other people reporting the same issue on the adobe forums
