I started to pre-order with these folks but then I remembered that since I am in Texas, I'd have to pay the State sales tax on the purchase. I'm going to go with someone out of State.

I went with these guys (Omega) because I don't have the full amount in the bank at the moment but have a lot of outstanding invoices coming in. You may want to check out the Texas Media Systems group buy, you could possibly save more from the discount including the instate taxes instead of going out of state and paying $2999.95

What deposit did they charge?

On the website the system simply put through the full amount, so I've just got off the phone with them and they're cancelling the full payment and will send me out a separate invoice for the deposit - which is 15%.

So I'd suggest simply calling them and they'll organise the deposit manually.
