so last week no the week before I flew in to LA for 2 nights...

My HVX-200 had had over 1310 hours on the P2 side and 36 hours on the Tape side..

Broken Lcd Hinge..(ok by me the hack worked 8 months then fell into a salvage yard.)

and AC in LA broke a bolt from my noga arm into the top of the camera.

my composite out was broken..

and one of my battery clips that hold the battery was broken as well...

and I needed my camera for the next 2 weeks so renting would have cost me alot...

any way moral of the story is unlike my friend still waiting for his JVC they fixed my camera in time!

oh and if you have the broken hindge save your self $650 and tell them you only need a new hindge not a hole new LCD!

for the record you can call there serviss number to see if they can fix your camera in la or not...

Cartoni...my first caroni focus got broken then fixed then drooped then stolen....my second one was great then dropped on a shoot and then busted head on airplane checked bagage...

Cartoni was very nice had the whole thing fixed up by next day and I only had to pay for legs!

anyway very happy with servis from both...

good to hear! My panny is getting beat up as well. I've got some sand in my focus ring from the beach, I've got the hacked LCD hinge busted, and that horrible d4-component connection shorts out if the cord is not at the right angle...

I think I'll be needing a revamp soon. Where did you send it to? What's the difference from Panasonic repair vs a Panasonic repair authorized place like spec comm?

when the airline busted your cartoni, did they do anything to make up for it or leave you in the dust? I've been so afraid of that I always carry my tripod on, but it sucks I wish I could check it!
