PPRO CS3- XP or VISTA

Hi All

Hope this is not too redundant. I am have major issues with PPRO CS3. Most, it seems, are par for the course until Adobe does something about Low memory errors and the other slew of documented, reported, unfixed errors they already know it has. It should be noted, I am a 10 year Premiere/Avid user/editor.

Every half hour it crashes, locks up. Corrupts the project upon re-opening ETC, low memory errors, blah blah blah. This is an 80 minute P2 MXF 720HD project with tons of PSD/TGA Layered graphics, Jumpbacks, over 800 imported P2 clips ETC. In short, I understand it is a monster of a project, and I expected some serious hurdles. But this? this is insane!!!

I'm wondering If I would have greater success operating PPRO CS3 in Vista rather than XP W/SP2?

I have tweaked the very-capable-system it is on with every suggestion I can get my hands on. I have made sure all drivers and hardware is recommended by Adobe Too. However, it is getting to the point that Im ready to throw Adobe to the birds for Video Editing.

One last Hail (VISTA) Mary may be an option worth exploring before leaving adobe behind, permanently. I have never messed with Vista To Date, Ive not heard much good about it. Has anybody been in my position and found greener grass without flipping platforms? I Can Buy VISTA today if it will help.

Your editing platform is your B****, you should not be the B**** to your platform.

Many Thanks

The rest is a rant:

I, and many Pro's who depend on their platforms to eat and pay our employees paychecks, each day, we don't have time for, IMHO, this "experiment in programing" Adobe calls an editing platform. It should be noted, I'm a 10 year veteran premiere/avid editor, user/installer. This is the worse hunk of code Adobe has ever let out to the public. Again, this is just my personal Opinion.

Maybe Adobe will GIVE CS4 out to all who have purchased CS3 in trust and loyalty, as an apology/gesture of goodwill. I'm not the only one having these exact issues it seems: Besides the Blogs and Adobe's own forums, More people I know have switched to other platforms and OS's due to this nonsense. I hope Adobe wakes up over there. CS4 may be a little too late to be really great.
