PPro and DVC50 (Sdx900)

I'm about to shoot a short film. I was going to use the 100A, but my DP has access to an SDX900. I understand that the 900 would be better image wise, but I have to cut this myself on 1.5 -- Is there any issues with cutting DVCPro 50 in a native 23.976 timelime? Do I just use the DVX widescreen 24p preset in PPro when I capture the material?
Thanks

I am not sure about the support of DVCPro 50 codec on premiere 1.5 although it might very well be available but you shouldnt be editing using the dvx 24p preset because thats using a dv25 compression codec. you can use all the same setting but then go into cutom preset and change the codec from dv to video for windows and choose the specific codec you need ot edit with. Remeber that you probably wont have firewire output in this case but the quality is worth it.

The codec is freely available from Matrox. The question is how you'll get the footage into Premiere Pro; you'd need access to a DigiSuite or some other DV50 capture application...

Thanks guy for the quick feedback. Sounds like a PITA. I also have Avid Express Pro HD 5.2, but I'm just learning it and the curve is great right now. Is AVID already set up for capture of DVCpro50?
