PPro 2.0 vs. FCP?

I've used Premiere from 4.2 up to 6.0, never went past that.

Extensive experience in Vegas.

Very limited in Avid, a little more in FCP.

Vegas is by far the best editor of the bunch, IMHO. Leaps and bounds better than anything else I've used.

I feel unless you've tried to use all aplications in congruous and even light, opinions are moot and misleading. People in the Industry are always telling me what's best, yet they've rarely tested the alternatives objectively. NLE's are like ice cream. For some reason or another, editors seem to think everyone should be eating vanilla. Strawberry and chocolate just aren't options.

For the record, I prefer Premiere. The current release is exceptionally stable and optimized on all of my systems; the new UI is gorgeous. But again, NLE's are like ice cream - experiment until you find the one that "tastes" best. Just because everyone else likes "Bantha Poodo" doesn't mean you have to as well.

I think I'm sick of all the flavors though - they all reek of corporate greed. I'm moving to Open Source. (give me six months) :violent5:
