PP2- "Premiere failed to return frame..."

Been having some issues with my edit PC, and it's getting funkier. It started out by crashing whenever I would render anything. Even just trying to get a preview, it would render for a while, then the machine would just shut down. Guessing it might be overheating, I put an electric fan on the back of the box and tried again. Sure enough that problem seemed to be temporarily solved, and Premiere went and found another way to screw with me. Now the clip will render away, but regardless of how I try to export it, it will come back with "Adobe Premiere Failed to return a frame , canceling action".

Now I have found a bunch of posts about PP1 and 1.5, but nothing specifies a fix, specially in PP2. Anybody got an answer?

dont know what to say, but a couple things to try would be to delete your temp render files for the project, and then try rendering again. sometimes the cache or pre rendered files in memory can get screwy for a project. or if its a larger project it could be a RAM issue and you can try rendering it in smaller sections, and then reassembling it on a timeline and rendering out the complete video using the same codec without recompression.

I'm just trying to render a 4 minute music performance, almost no edits, no color or effects, just a title and a bug, yet I can't render to anything.

I did do some research on the Adobe Boards, and followed the tips there. It solved the Frame Return error... now I just get an exclamation mark with no explanation.
