PP1.5 - CC - What's the best way to "crush blacks"?

I'd like my blacks blacker but my whites unchanged. If I increase the contrast, the blacks get blacker, but the whites get whiter.

I'm using 1.5.

there's a pedestal adjustment under the 'image control' group, 'color corrector' effect, HSL section. that works pretty much like the ped adjustment in the scene setting in the dvx.

another way to get a similar effect is to work with levels (from the graphical interface, slide the black slider towards right)
