PP 2.0 crashes when rending sequence

When I begin rendering a fairly long sequence (40 min) the PP 2.0 crashes and closes down. I have tried rendering to a DV .avi, Quicktime (no compression), etc to no avail. I would try rendering to mpeg-2 in PP, but my DVD authoring software (Sony DVD Architect) does not recognize the file as an mpeg-2. I went to Adobe site and followed their troubleshooting advice (turn off auto save, take out auto levels effects, try rendering to dv .avi , etc). Please HELP!!!

Yes, I was able to render a similar sequence a couple of days ago, but it was crashing for all render attempts except to DV .avi. Short sequences seem to do OK, even a Quicktime (no compression) render. I was only able to render the previous long sequence when I did an dv .avi render (could not do Quicktime render, for example). For some reason, even a DV .avi does not work for my current sequence???

My system specs are p4 (single core) at 3.2GHz, 2.5 GB Ram, 80Gig system drive and 250Gig video drive, NVidia Quadro 1400 graphics. Its an HP xw4300 workstation. PP V2.0 / Production Suite

I did insert into the sequence a couple of frame grabs that I worked up in Photoshop, then reimported back into PP. I am at work now, so I can't check, but I think they were saved as 24 bit in Photoshop before importing into PP. I did read a couple of posts that suggest that stills should be imported as 32 bit. But, my last sequence had similar frame grabs and (as noted above) I was able to at least render to DV .avi????

I have the same video card - check your driver version. I would just like to rule that out. I had to upgrade my drivers for the card because it was crashing AE; I think you need driver version 77.56 or higher

Yes, the drive version is OK. I went to the Nvidia site and used the driver version that they listed for Adobe. I think it is 77.56, but I cannot confirm absolutely since I am away from home right now.

Does it shutdown while doing anything else that is CPU intensive?

No, there have been no problems with rendering other short sequences, or rendering in other programs (Vegas, Express Pro HD). It crashes after only a minute or two after the start of rendering this one sequence (altho it did happen with another long sequence until I rendered to dv .avi, but this doesn't work with current sequence).
