Powerpoint to MOV?

I'm not much on PPT, but client gave me a map where areas reveal one after another in a slide show.
I Saved As MOV, but it:

1) doesn't animate (it's just a still), and
2) is squished, not wide screen, even though I entered same dimensions as the PPT.

I'm on a Mac, thanks for any suggestions!

Hey Grove.

Try this.

Open the Power Point.

Then file Menu > "Save as"

Scroll through save as options for a still file such as "JPEG"

Import and use the files to create a sequence in Premiere.

The only way to keep PowerPoint animations for use in a video editing application is to hook up the computer with PowerPoint to a hardware scaler, then hook that up to some type of video recording device.

On a PC, use Camtasia to record the screen. On a Mac, use either QuickTime or Screenflow.

Update- I'd asked how to make a (moving) mov because of the slides in the PPT.

I had originally tried saving as jpgs (as Shooter suggested) before I posted, but it saved all the layers of the PPT separately.

I also had tried Keynote, but it turned the round flags (like push pins on a map) the client had used on the PPT to the original square flag jpgs.

So I began looking for a ppt to mov converter, but they weren't worth the cost, so I made a screen recording and was about to use that.

But then I went back and tried saving as jpgs one more time, and voila... it saved all the layers. So I just dissolved between each slide timing it out to the script.

I just can't figure out why it saved ppt layers separately originally, but thanks to all for the suggestions!
