Powering the Zoom H4n over USB

Hi there,

Has anyone out there tried powering the H4n with a USB battery? This guy found a setup that goes through the ac adapter cable

The only question mark for me is will the H4n still be able to use phantom power with a usb battery. Any ideas? Thank you!

I think I've read that is possible, though I don't have a Zoom to try it out on.
If it powers up via USB power, PP should work as well.

I've powered my H4n from a usb battery pack, with a custom made (by myself) usb to coaxial DC style jack (the H4n's power in)

It wants 5v, usb is 5v, so it works just like you are powering it from a plug pack.

I also have powered it off a generic NP-F970 battery thought a 5v regulator. I think I ran tests, and could get a long time recording that way, but i can't remember the exact results
