Powering Kino-Flo Diva 400 from Portable Power Supply

Looking to rig a Kino-Flo Diva 400 onto a doorway dolly and don't want to mess around with having a grip/Pa coil cable while we are on the move. I believe I read once that a Diva 400 only draws equivalent of 200 watts, but I can't find anything at the moment that confirms that.

Does anyone know how much they draw, and would it then be possible to run one off of a portable power supply such as this?

Thanks!

I've run a kino car kit, and rosco litepads off a similar power supply before...it should run the Diva, but I can't say for the amount of time it would power it. I've also run a Diva off an inverter and car battery in a pinch before as well.

Can you rent a different light instead of the diva? A joker 400 with a xs chimera can easily be powered off of a battery belt and with a few scrims you can get comparable output and quality to the Diva...Unless you can find the correct inverter and adapters, just might be an easier way to go.

I could be wrong here, but I'm thinking you'll also need a pure sine wave inverter.

I've always used a Pure Sine Wave inverter as advised by Kino Flo, but you might consider reading Guy Holt's opinions at Cinematography.com as I remember he's had some luck with at least one other inverter.

"Kino Flo recommends a pure sine wave inverter. Inexpensive saw tooth or near sine wave inverters may not work."

Very, very optimistic.

I brought a Dynalite XP1100 to New Orleans shortly after Katrina to power some electronics. At one point we needed to film inside a car at night, but only had a couple of LED bricks, so I found a Rope Light to supplement them. I don't remember the runtime, but was a bit shocked how short it was...perhaps a 1/2-to-3/4 hour.

Page #11 of Kino's rental catalog shows their 1800W Inverter System, & runtimes with various lights. Even with two marine batteries a 4' 4Bank only burns for just under an hour.
