Powering a IR camera for Portable use.

So I'm looking for a way to power this camera for portable use:

Can I use this D-Tap:

and then plug that into this:

http://www.antonbauer.com/Products/Prowatt300Inverter

And from there plug into the A/C adapter for the camera itself?

If that's all possible, the one thing I noticed is that the Prowatt 300 Power Inverter say 12-14 volts and that batteries all seem to run at 14.4 volts. Will the Inverter handle the 14.4?

Actually, any 12 volt battery will work, provided you have the connections for the battery to the camera (Battery- Female Spade, camera-either bare wire or a connector that's available at Radio Shack or electronic supply house.) Small gel-cells and chargers are available all over the internet. The camera is a 12VDC camera.

The inverter specs allow for their use in vehicles (which while running have an output of anywhere between 13 and 14.5 volts from the alternator). 14.4 is the "standard" voltage output from the alternator. Inverters BTW convert DC into AC, which you are adding way too many steps to the chain. You are thinking DC to AC to DC. Not needed. DC straight off a battery is the best. Or just AC to DC, if you have an outlet nearby.

A custom wiring harness would be a snap to do.

That thing only draws 180 ma. So a fully charged 12V 7.2 aH battery would last a long time. Run it off a car battery......... LONG usage time. I had an old JVC X3 that I wired into my cigarette lighter and made a 100' cord for. I ran the camera with the car running with no probs. Not saying you should do that, but my specs showed a little leeway in the voltage. Call the manufacturer and ask for tech support. I would suspect it would tolerate 14.4 volts.

Now you do realise, that is a PAL not NTSC camera, right? The NTSC one is: Hitachi KP-M2RN 1/2" Near Infrared B/W CCD Camera and it's less expensive.
