Powerbook and Panasonic BT-LH1700W Monitor

Hi I am wondering if anyone has used a Mac Powerbook and Panasonic BT-LH1700W Monitor together using the the DVI output.

A couple of companies, Gefen.com, being one have both DVI to component, and DVI to RGB. They can be seen here: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=3176 and at http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=3178

Will one of these drive a Panasonic BT-LH1700W Monitor, or do I need to get a BlackMagic board in a tower to really see my HD footage,

Thoughts?

Rob,

You can go with a Matrox MXO. You will run the DVI into it and then output to HD-SDI. This will give you flicker free broadcast quality monitoring.

I know that we have the MXO in-stock but I would have to check on the 1700 when I'm back in the office.

Hi Andrew,

I checked out the MXO last night on the web too. It looks like a great product, but it is $995. The cables I listed are about $30. so I think I know my answer. It's going to cost me a grand to have a mobile solution.

I may end up with a new MacPro and a Kona or Blackmagic card. Funny how the one thing ends needing lots more things.
