A question for you who have more experience in exterior shooting:

What are some good recommendations for power sources.
What naturally comes to mind are generators. But still I wonder what you all use. And if they are generators, what brands.

For long shoots you can use any high capacity 12V sources from the heavy duty battery belts to car power. (You need to step down the voltage to 7.2V)
A car battery would run the camera for weeks :-)

The problem with generators is the noise, which will absolutely be picked up by the mics. The problem with running lights off a generator is that it's not a steady flow of power, so light intensity will change. Generators have been discussed at length in the Lighting Section, I suggest you read up on it over there.
