Power Point

I need to cut a Microsoft Power Point Prsentation into a video I am cutting using Final Cut Pro.

The live video was shot with the HVX200 72024PN- It is a whole training series DVD set that I am producing. It turns out in one of the sections the lecture subject is giving a PowerPoint presentation. I have access to his original Power Point file but how would I convert that into usable video for Final cut- Obviously I don't use Powerpoint and his version is coming from the PC world as well.... Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Russ

I had a similar project and just used FCP's text tool. That way I could adjust the transitions to fit the presenter, use a better looking background, etc. You can open Powerpoint on the Mac and export as a quicktime movie but the transitions probably won't work without a lot of tweaking. The other method I've used is to film the presentation screen with a second camera and do a split screen edit or something similar. The text tool method makes a much better looking product.

The only thing I can suggest is exporting the powerpoint presentation into high quality jpgs and then creating a slide show with a vo to get the same effect of a live presentation.

Similar to this, I've done crossfading from video to slides in Post before. Very simply, export the PowerPoint to JPEG or PNG, and then pull each picture into the timeline at the appropraiate spot, set crossfades, done!

Use Camstasia studio, is a PC software that let you record the screen (and audio from mic) edit it with special effects like zooming your interest area and cursor effects.
Let you edit and save in any generic format of video.
There is a trial full functional demo in the page.
