Posting a trailer

[Brickhouse]

If I were to put up a trailer of the feature I'm working on, would it hurt my chances of getting into film festivals? If not, is there any reason I shouldn't put up a trailer?
Thanks.

It depends on the festivals you want to enter. Generally, putting any footage from the project your submitting online can disqualify it. Many reputable festivals will not consider something that has been in the public domain other than the requisite showing.
