Posting a Quote

How do you quote a portion of the text of a post that you are responding to on this site? When I click "quote", the whole message is displayed. I tried cutting and pasting, but this doens't seem to work properly either.

Screen grabs...

See the button below the text entry area that says "Go Advanced". Click that, once you're there, you'll have the ability to do HTML type stuff, rich text, images, etc.

At the top of the "Advanced" text entry area, you'll see a button for "Insert Image" (roll your mouse over the buttons and a "Tool Tip" will pop up describing the button, it should say "Insert Image"). Click that and a dialog box will pop up for you to enter the URL of your picture. For example...

http://www.yourwebsite.com/images/mypicture.jpg

You should then see your picture in the text entry as it will appear when you post your message.

Hit "quote", then just delete the part you don't want. Anything between [ quote ] and [ /quote ] will '.

I tried that, but then it did not include the part about "originally posted by"...I will try again with this one and see what happens...

Well, I just previewed it, and it worked, but I swear I tried it earlier, and it didn't include the "originally posted by" part....maybe my brain is failing me more than I realized...

thanks all
