As often happens you end up doing little things not initially part of the deal but anyway.... So it fell to me whilst doing a commercial to be run at a motor show, that they wanted a poster made. To cut a long story short this is not something I usually do but not a bad thing to think about improving on.

So heres the poster I created. So put your designer hat on and give any points to think about in future efforts. Cheers

EDIT:Heres a link to the actual car show its for: http://www.importfest.com/06/index.php

And No I didnt design their banner...... they have had that for years and I had to just work with it.

I think the text of the car brands is too sharp and looks too super imposed, like a cheap video titler. Everything else rocks though! Thats my only thing, i like the rest. I suggest the car brands be lined up on the left maybe or on the right like the "race, street, custom, show, drift" are lined up. see how it looks.

looks geat though, i like it because it looks indi-pro at the same time, like flyers/posters SHOULD for these types of events, so you nailed it on the head with that

Not bad at all. Being an avid enthusiast in the tuning scene, I think you could lose the Fast and Furious'esque font at the top of the poster. The last thing any true tuner would want to be associated with is a movie that inaccurately portrays the scene for the sake of entertainment.

It seems a little too cluttered, and the "Proud sponsers" part is hard to read with a click glance and it's misspelled (sponsors not sponsers).

Other than that, they should be happy.

kind of off topic but i saw a R33 GTR Spec V in Queens a week ago....

my first skyline sighting. I was very stoked. it passes me like i was going backwards. I love that car. too bad icant drive stick.

AS for th poster, put something in the dark aprts at the top. They attract to mmuch attention being the only part of the image that isnt busy.

I'm not fully sure what the sponsor requires or wants, so the following may be way off base.

The overall look and tone is great. The car, background pic of the city and everything below (the white with red text and black with white text) are top notch. Very clean, contemporary (to me at least), and powerful. Brilliant.

Higher up on the page there does seem to be some confusion as to what you're trying to emphasize. There are a lot of things fighting for attention and the end result isn't wholly pleasing.

With such stunning visuals (car/city/bottom of the page), maybe you could try to keep it as simple as possible and let the visuals speak. Less is more, etc. Though admittedly its hard to keep things clean and simple if the sponsor wants all sorts of text added.

If they let you, try experimenting with removing the text of various car makes (If they sell BMW and MB they'll probably want the list) and perhaps move "Race Street Custom Show Drift" to appear horizontally at the very top of the page, playing with the horizontal spacing between the words.

That will leave you with the "JDM imports" copy and the "Proud Sponsors" copy to place. I don't have any ideas for what to do with those although I agree with AdvanTech that the sponsors line is currently difficult to read.

Having said all that, its great the way it is now. I don't think the sponsors would be upset if you showed it to them. But if you mess around and experiment through a few more revisions I think you might come across something you'll like even more.

Thanks for the input guys. I did make some small adjustments before it went off today, but nothing major. Used some points from input. Again thanks. Was nice to know I got some of it right!
