" postcard " for a press kit. Any idea what that's suppose to mean?

[Ask_the_dusk]

Hi everyone ,

I finished my short and have to start with submissions for festivals. Some of them require a press kit with a " postcard" in digital format. I have no idea what that's suppose to mean. They didn't outlined in what dimensions that must be or what suppose to be written on it.

Any thoughts ?

The "Post card" would be the one sheet (Poster) formatted like a 3X5 flyer that is commonly passed out publicizing a movie or band. You find those things on windshields, on tables at bars and all over.

David, that sounds like a valid guess. But they want poster, postcard And flyer

No, that is correct. The poster is the larger size (24"X36" or other sizes), like for display in front of a theater, the flyer is smaller (81/2"X11, or so), like you find stapled to phone poles and the post card is smaller still (3"X5" or so). The poster and flyer ore usually in portrait orientation and the postcard is in landscape orientation. When putting together the flyer and post card you should leave room for date, time and venue information.

I see. I would never thought about leaving space for date and place. Thanks!!
