post YOUR DVX pix

I like it. It isn't a Chrosziel, which is bulletproof, but it gets me my shots.

The riser plate needs constant attention when doing handheld work - the little socket cap bolts tend to work themselves loose. The filter stages have the same weight and rigidity as Chrosz., which is nice. The rear rotating stage feels a little less precision on the Cavision, but it does function almost smoothly.

I'd buy it again - except this time it would be:

Mmmmmm, 24p is good for you.

Mic is AT897.
Not pictured are a crappy tripod, lots of audio stuff, SteadyTracker, and a DVRigPro.

thats the century optics anamorphic eyepiece that unsqueezes the image so you can see it in 16:9 in the eyepiece instead of squished 4:3 when using the panasonic anamorphic adaptor lense.

Well I was feeling a little inspired by NBCshooter, so while I burn some more DVD's here's one of my rigs:

BTW- This was shot with my second DVX on F6 Default settings, but it looks like there is still some interlacing .... hmm, I'm going to have to look into that some more. I think something may have gotten changed .....

Maybe it's not interlacing, but whatever it is it is annoying me! you can really see it on the diagonals.

Here is a view at 200%

My other grabs form the camera you see pictured don't seem to have this happen to them ...

Looks like it could simply be undersampled chroma (Pb) as in 4:1:1 DV.

hmmmm, good thought. It might be that - but I don't see it on other footage, it could just be because my other footage has a more varied background, where this is just mainly a blue background ... any other thoughts?

Hello waltind,

I looked at the insert photo that you supplied in post #36 and what you are objecting to it is almost absolutely the result of 4:1:1 DV sampling. I imported the image into Photoshop and found that the body of the DVX at the point where it intercepts the background is nearly black (R=5, B=18, G=4) where the background is mostly Pb in content (R=57, B=255, G=61). What you are seeing is a classic example of compressed chrominance in a high contrast and color saturated image. What else could it be?
