Reading the Corrado thread...
The post about getting short ends reminded me of a crazy story that happen while picking up some short ends...
My first line producing gig was on a micro budget movie shot on film.... not to long before HD or really 24p HD came into being...
I used to go in on Friday nights after the tapping of the TV shows at a studio and pick up short ends of film... or really they were long ends...
For some reason one sitcom shot on a different stock than the other shows...
On my last night I had to take the director's wife with me... she insisted that she had to come because she had to pay for it and other things with her personal check...
So as long as she stayed in the car it was okay with the studio...
Well I'm picking up the film and I hear "Can I help you?" as you can guess she showed up... she was told to leave and I was chewed out...
It wasn't a very friendly ride back to the location... when I got back I pulled her husband aside... and said because your wife's excuse for coming was... she "wanted to see what a lot looked like"... since she had never been on one... well her site seeing tour cost him $10k...
The person in the camera department was told if everything was okay... and I followed orders I was to get all the film for free... all okayed by a studio vp...
