Definitely. The bigger and more intense the project, the bigger the down when it's over. I think it's because you're putting all of your energy into a project and your energy runs out, but you don't know it because you're running on pure adrenaline. And when the projects over--your brain tells your body, "hey bud take it easy, we got through this one." And then your body says to your brain, "I'm really beat--get depressed for awhile so this guy doesn't start any new projects for a couple of weeks."
I suspect the whole thing started in our reptilian brains so we could recover under a rock after something tried to catch and eat us.
Post Project Depression? I get that feeling after EVERYTHING:
- waking up
- posting on DVXuser
- brushing teeth
- putting on clothes
- taking off clothes
- eating anything with sugar in it
- any encounter with a woman
My advice is to curl yourself into a ball in the shower and cry as hard as you can. Do this until you reach some sort of alternate reality. It's a fools paradise, but it will hold you over until your next project.
Funny, I usually experience downers like this when working on freebies....
Trying to put together a video for my parents 50th anniversary next month....just keep putting it off..............

Not sure I have heard of post project depression - I would think it would be joy.[/quote]

For me... the focus a project requires takes up a lot of physical and mental space.. when I finish it is like jumping off of a cliff. Sure im glad to finish… nothing better than that, but it is hard to fill the mental gap until my next project begins.

Kovarova - You're right! I'm sharing a garage apartment with Bluespider and TC. They're in on my deception as well. I do their laundry and they promise not to turn me in. I just need to keep up the charade until April 15th. That's when the IRS will stop looking for me. ....Or will start looking for me. I forget.
