Possible Plug-in For AE?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a plug-in or stand-alone program that would allow me to create a high resolution pic from a movie clip. Someone told me about a program that would take the frames before and after a designated frame, and produce a high resolution still from it. Does this ring a bell for anyone out there?

Thanks,

There were probably several standalone programs that did that exact thing. Topaz Moment or Virtualdub come to mind, but this is all from memory, so I may be confusing the names with some other program.

My results were disappointing - the resulting image had a 'plastic' look to it.

Thanks for your help. Topaz Moment is the program that was recommended to me. It is now a legacy program no longer sold or supported, but it appears to downloadable as a trial with 250 uses. I'll give it a whirl to see if I can use it.

I wonder if Topaz has moved that functionality to one of their other many products? With hi-def video cameras there's probably less demand for this sort of program. Let us know how your results turn out.

BTW, I have also heard of folks experimenting with capturing several consecutive frames and 'image merging' them in Photoshop. I haven't tried it, but I guess it would be possible.

After trying to download Moments, I decided to not try it out. Even from reputable download sites, the executable had a virus in it. Oh well.
