PortaBrace has a new cover/sunshade for Odyssey 7Q

i wanted to share the new PortaBrace cover/sunshade/weather shield for the 7Q that i just received.

With velcro seams all around the unit, you can access any side you want on the 7Q. The all black material means that you get a dark area inside the sunshade area, making your screen pop that much more. Flaps at the front and the back allow full access to the whole front and back of the unit, allowing mounting options to stay the same.

The velcro bottom seam is a personal favorite of mine, hiding away cable connections well, and addend a huge amount of protection for the exposed ports that aren't being used. I know that there are some sun shades coming out soon for the 7Q, but if you want a proper amount of protection for your unit, with a build in sunshade, made by a reputable company, go get one of these!!!!

Sort of related to this. . .I realize the Odysseys are touchscreens, but I'm still wondering if there's any planned screen protection (somehow) on the way? With a device like this, seems like it'd be easy to damage the screen. I've been thinking about the Odyssey vs. the DP7 and this is one thing that just occurred to me.
 
All RedTouch monitors are touch screen with no protection on them. People have been using them for 3-4yrs now without issue, this will be the same on the 7Q. Its been designed as a touch screen from the ground up, and therefor is built to take what it needs to take....
 
The Odyssey7Q uses both Gorilla Glass as well as a screen protector. There is a stick-on/peel-off screen protector already installed on the unit. Replacements are $35.

he PortaBrace bag is quite nice. I consulted with them to make sure everything fit well. We didn't make it easy on them, considering that we needed access to every surface of the unit. Notice that above the integrated sunshade is a pair of D-rings. This is so you can wear a neck strap and still view the screen.
