portable VO setup?

I need to record some VO with my oktava and I don't have a dedicated space for recording. I just have my office which is a room in my house that's less than stellar for audio. There will be some computer hum (mild) and wall reverbs. i have an armour type of furniture thats pretty large and i though of padding the inside w/ acoustic foam or something like that and putting the mic in there.. basically the mic would be surrounded on 4 or 5 sides by foam (not sure about bottom surface, but that could be temporarily covered w/ a mover blanket or smoething. The 6th uncovered surface would be where the talent is.
I'm wondering how much more effective this would be than just putting the mic on my desk and recording straight.
what can you guys suggest for a portable setup that i can get out of the way quickly.. maximum i'd like to spend on this is maybe $200 since VO isnt something i'll need that often.

no one else? no one build a v.o. setup? Any comments on acoustic treatments, foams, etc would be appreciated.

Instead of the armour why not build one of those "VO boxes" that Douglas S. Eagle makes; a five sided foamcore box lined with acoustic foam. It doesn't make the room acoustics transparent but there is some improvement.

There is this thing: http://www.jeffreypfisher.addr.com/AGHR//Art6.htm but I sent out a few emails and never found a US dealer for the box. If someone can find these things locally I would love to know where.

Can't you take the computer into the other room?

Cheers

I posted about this before but didn't get too many replies. Speaking of foam - is there a big dfference in the "wedge" style over "pyramid" or "eggcrate" types of foams? or is it all more or less the same?
