can someone suggest a portable green screen lighting set up? we interview people in hotel rooms sometimes so want something that won't trip the breakers. we something to light the greenscreen and the subject. thanks.

I would probably start with a traditional 3 point kit, plus some HD flouros for the screen. Take some foam core & black wrap to control spill off the flouros.

are kinoflow good for the screen?

My master (barry green) says the reflecmedia suck eggs.

how and why are foam and black wrap use to control spill.

thanks

DOH! I did not say that! =:O

I said reflecmedia is a different approach that doesn't necessarily reveal significant benefits. It's like six-of-one, half-dozen-of-the-other. In my experience with it, Reflecmedia is not some super-magical cure-all; it takes just about as much effort as the traditional method does. It's easier to set up, quicker to grab a key, but you'll still see wrinkles and folds and seams and such. If I was looking at spending $7,000 to improve my chroma-key results, I'd probably choose to spend that money on a better (i.e., 4:2:2) camera before spending it on the reflecmedia system. But that doesn't mean reflecmedia is bad (or that it sucks eggs!) We used it at length, and it is a workable system.

I just expected more from it, is all...

Black foam core, and black wrap, control spill by sucking up the light and causing it to cease to exist. White foam core would cause the light to bounce around; black causes the light to simply stop (well, it converts it from light to heat, technically). Foam core is cheap and easy to use, black wrap is superb for the purpose because it can be easily molded into whatever shape you need.

Very Einsteinian. Sort of like a black hole.
