Portable - Folding? stand for 14" Sony monito

ok i have this really nice 14" sony monitor that i occasionally take with me on shooting where there is room for it + power...

has anyone come up with something nice and portable to hold the monitor?

the sucker costs around a grand and i'm afraid someone is going to step on it but i would love to find a setup where i can put it a couple of feet off the ground without carrying around a large folding table.

it weighs about 40 pounds.

i know when i see pictures of the pros on location they have these snazzy roll around carts with room for the monitor on top and space for misc. stuff underneath on shelves

Go to some garage sales or flea markets and look for old school projector or slide projector tables. They have folding legs, nice metal table top and usually have ac outlets built onto them. 5-10 bucks

well $300 for a snazzy anthrocart is great but i'm just looking for something that FOLDs to bring on site for holding up my monitor.

i mean in reality 3 or 4 milk cartons would almost do.

Ah, then check out the camping stores....small folding travel tables. ;)

hmm. you read my mind...

i was just looking at something on the website of a local camping place.

i see the value in some of these killer carts, but when your shooting on a city street and trying to be low key they are just too much to haul around.

Yep, much more practical that lugging around a full cart.

I've got a smaller monitor, and I got a three step folding stepladder at walmart for about 15 bucks. Got a nice wide top step to put the monitor on, and it comes in handy for all that other crap where you need to get some height. I'm not home now, so can't measure, but if it's big enough for your monitor, its a good solution.
