Portable Dolly

Recently, I finished building a portable dolly. In all it cost me less than $15. (partially because I already had some old bearings & wheels). A video of the dolly and some quick tests I ran can be found here:

Please note that the "Wide Shot" is not a fully zoomed out shot. On the DVX100B there is a bit of distortion at Z0 so I set it to about Z20.

Video requires Quicktime 7

Nice!

What diameter PVC are you using? The dowel seems to fit right in there, did you have to do anything to it to get such a great fit?

I used this this to make it: http://www.softweigh.com/video/diy.html
It doesn't make 100% sense but I was able to improvise.

I am using 1.5 inch PVC pipe for the track and the dolly. I bought a piece of a handrail that pretty much fit the PVC pipe and then I had to file it a bit. It's tought finding a big enough dowell.
