Portable Battery with Pure Sine Wave Inverter

I was looking for a Lead Acid type battery to couple with a pure sine wave inverter to power some cool light CFLs outdoors and suddenly remembered my old photography battery pack from Alien Bees.
I used to own the Vagabond I, which was a decent pack, but the new Vagabond II comes with a 20AH Lead Acid battery and a very high quality pure sine wave inverter capable of 300-400w. It normally costs 300, but owners of the previous model get discounts and I can get it for 150.
The alienbees lighting come with 150w modeling lamps so getting these to work should be no problem, unless someone can correct me..

So can you have a 12VDC output (hopefully 4 pin XLR) at the same time you're using the inverter to power something thats 110VAC?

I think getting power through the 12VDC should be possible (not sure about a 4 pin XLR). The old vagabond unit had a extra unused red/black plug that could possibly be used to hook up a 4pin XLR. I'm not too electrically inclined so I'm not sure what kind of connection is needed from the battery to the 4pin.

Given that the unit was made for photography, its not surprising they wouldn't have a 4 pin XLR. You would basically need a connection from their DC output to a 4 pin XLR (male) where pin 1 is GND and pin 4 is + voltage. Otherwise, I guess you could power both flo and LED fixtures by the inverter as well. Just plug our AC to DC power supply for the LED fixture into the inverter and power it as you would if you were using regular wall power. Not as efficient, but it will work.
