Portable AC Battery Power : Would this run LED or Fluorescent Lights ?

Ive used the 400W version of this exact same battery. It ran a Diva Kino Flo at full power for at least an hour but runs best when the kino was dimmed a bit or on the 2 bulb setting.

Biggest catch is that the wattage is not accurate: It only ran 330W indefinetly: 400W was only for a max of 5 minutes AND the 330W was actually split between the AC plugs, you can not run more than 165W on each plug AND you can not run two heavy inbalanced loads.

I tried to run a Diva and a monitor on the two plugs and a really annoying warning buzzer goes off.

I tried to run a 200W china bulb on a leg and it limited it down to 160W.

Now this was on the 400W version, but I'd assume that the "700W" is actually two legs of 300W.

But to answer the question directly, I can verify that the 400W version will run a Diva on 2 bulbs for at least an hour, and I think it might have been longer than that.

Thanks for the feedback guys. This looks like it might be a handy bit of gear for me in certain situations. ( until I'm prepared to invest in V-mount batteries and charger )

I wouldn’t suggest using it in wet situations. It doesn’t have GFCIs on it, and since it doesn’t bond the neutral to ground, GFCIs will not operate reliably on it. Since, it only takes 50 milliamps (.05 Amps) to kill you, this thing can be extremely dangerous in wet environments. If you want to learn why battery boxes like this are ground fault hazards in wet situations, there is a IATSE training curriculum available online. It covers ground fault protection for everything from these battery boxes to Crawford Studio generators. Really interesting stuff like the fact that even though the Honda Inverter generators have grounded receptacles they don't offer an equipment grounding system. Not only that, but even though GFCIs will test positive on the them, GFCIs don't work on them. To find it search for the "Local 481 GFCI Workshop Curriculum" on line.
