Popping sound at beginning of movie

I'm using Vegas 5 and have this problem. When I play the movie from the very beginning, I get a slight pop noise. I thought it was my sound track si I inserted a volume envelope that muted at the beginning and rose up from there but I still get the noise. I tried moving the video clip ahead a little and it's still there.

Anyone got any ideas?

Im sorry i dont have an answer to your problem but wanted to say that i had the exact same problem in my system. I just wanted you to know its nothing wrong with the media (nothing serious) But is a very irritating noise nonetheless. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem went away. Im not suggesting you should go that route. But hang in maybe someone will chime in with an actual technical answer so we both could get to know why.
 
I should have added that the pop is only at the very beginning and no where else in the movie. In other words is not a soundcard problem.
 
Yes excactly the same problem. It will pop when u start the movie at frame 1 only. Never in the middle of the timeline. The wierd part was it came up inside another small edit program that i use also "Power Director" where the same thing occured. I think its something to do with the drivers cannot be hardware associated because now its not reccuring on my system. Im surprised noone has responded till now. Means noone has had this problem here. Youll have to wait it out.
 
The only time I've had something similar is when the audio started at a non-zero crossing, or when the ASIO drivers were crappy.
