Because I posted a number of feature requests on Adobe's web site, I was curious to see what others would rate as their most important feature request for Premiere Pro CS7.

I can think of at least five features I would love to see added. Let me know which one of these you would most like to see. If anyone can suggest others, I would love to add it to the poll.

Item #3 can be done already.

I have Numbers 1 - 9 set up as Toggles for Video Tracks
Shift 1- Shift 9 for Audio Tracks

Are you sure? Under keyboard shortcuts section, it seems like it's only for toggling target tracks.
I have chose a similar keyboard shortcut you did for toggling those target tracks.

But I don't see a keyboard shortcut that would actually move the "V1" or "A1" highlight to a specific track (as in FCP7).

I never use that V1 A1 thing. Dont have a need or use for it in my workflow.

But I do make a lot of use Targetting the individual Tracks ...which is what I thought you asked for in Item 3.

Premiere 6 and 6.5 are so old its a wonder they run at all.

What are you running them on..a Commodore?

Confusing as it is...but...Current Version is CS6 - Premiere PRO 6.0.3

CS6 and it sucks. I don't use it any more Avid is the way. Program is for people that don't know any better. I pity them.

No issues with it here...and accept I maybe dont know **** all about anything better.... but I am grateful for your pity.

None of the above. You're thinking too small.

In the next CS suite, I'd love to see full round trip Dynamic Link support between Premiere Pro and SpeedGrade.

I'd love to see full native support for Adobe's own format, CinemaRAW.

I'd love to see Adobe add a built in x264 encoder as a second choice, instead of using only the MinConcept encoder, and add both Constant Quality and Constant Quantizer modes for all MPEG exports.

And I really, really want the ability to turn off Edit Point Selection in Preferences. I hate that feature.

I would like to see and improvement of performence not so hardware intensive, every time a new version is released you need a upgrade hardware.

That's not true, Gavin. I'm using CS6 on the same machine I had for CS4, an i7 920 with 12GB RAM, and CS6 works better and faster than CS4 and 5 did.

Agreed. I am running the Windows version of CS6 on the same workstation I have run CS4-CS5.5 on, and CS6 performs very well for me.

I want to see much better metadata integration. Pointless having Prelude when you can't access the metadata (in a searchable form) in Premiere Pro.

i want to be able to search and order on metadata instead of just bins. - pretty much like FCPX.

I definitely want better editor collaboration tools, but I fear the Adobe Anywhere is going to require stupidly expensive servers while will put it out of the reach of smaller shops.

I want better colour correction tools. The fast colour corrector and 3-way colour correctors in Premiere Pro are a joke. They produce banding and posterisation far too quickly and aren't a patch on the likes of Colorista II and FCPX. For a company like Adobe to have such poor built in colour correction is shocking.

I want shape masks built in to the colour correctors instead of having to play games with duplicating footage to multiple tracks and adding title masks. I guess full integration with SpeedGrade is where they are headed, but I don't want to have to go out to separate apps for simple yet powerful tools. It needs to be built right in to the NLE.

I want them to figure out a way to play audio immediately after importing, while they are still conforming the files. Having to wait (sometimes hours) for Premiere Pro to conform audio is painful when you're on a tight deadline. FCPX can do this with both video and audio, so why can't Adobe do it with just Audio?

I would like them to figure out a way to collect up all remote media in to a root project folder without having to duplicate the project, which itself destroys any bin ordering you've done.

I want them to fix the sorting of the thumbnails.... it really can't be that hard.

I want them to use (or at least have the option of using) the clip creation date as pseudo timecode when sorting clips, for files (often AVCHD) that have creation time/date but no embedded timecode (00:00:00:00).

I want a built in proxy workflow where I can right click on a clip and choose 'make proxy' and be able to switch back and forth at-will (just like FCP X ;)).

I want them to fix the export form render files to that it merely does a file copy if rendering to the same codec type, instead of re-rendering everything all over again (painful for things like Neat Video).

Make the broadcast safe filter GPU accelerated (this causes more delays than anything else).

I want to see more metadata from cameras available so that we can make better choices for things like noise reduction. Knowing if something was shot at ISO2500 instead of ISO1250 would help applying different camera profiles.

Fix the Multicam Feature / Bug where it goes back to the first angle when ever you hit stop!!!

Oh, I could go on and on ;)

< sigh >

Oh, and a better shortcut key editor ;) Take a look at FCPX on this too!

I would happily give up some shortcut key facilities for all the above being fixed / implemented. Shortcuts are nice to speed up the work, but the basic building blocks for doing the work need to be right in the first place.

Seriously? Anyway, I'm grateful for your pity, too.

Back to topic,
Real time scope displays and preview with 3-way and Curves? That would be nice....coming from vegas, this is one feature i really miss.
Also, it would be nice to be able to cut clips just by pressing the 's' key (as per vegas) instead of having to switch to razor tool.
Oh, and the ability to by pass ALL effects applied to all clips on the timeline. (as per preview fx bypass in Vegas)

In no particular order.

Global effect bypass.

Dynamic round-trip ability with PPro/Speedgrade/Audition

Add audio fades to clips ala Audition (just pull from the upper corner of the clip)

Warp Stabilizer functions on clips regardless of conforming to timeline resolution.

Dynamic high-quality resizing of clips when "Scale to timeline" is selected and %- size is changed.

There are others but these are things I ran into and keep running into every project.

I cam from Vegas too. First thing I did was rearrange the window to look like Vegas and found the keyboard shortcut for "Add Edit" from CTRl K to S. Now you can split the clips on the timeline with S, however, the tracks have to be selected first and it will only split clips on the selected tracks.

You can do this now.

OK Jim. Tell me how? How do I take 10 clips from a camera with timecode (but no creation time that Premiere Pro sees) and 10 clips from a camera with timecode set to 00:00:00:00 but a valid creation time / date and sort them in to order?

FCPx can do it.

Premiere Pro can't as far as I can tell. You can sort by timecode OR you can sort by creation time/date, but they are mutually exclusive.
