Just a quick poll to find out where DVXusers typically watch DVDs. I'm trying to find out if making DVD-Rom content is worth the effort for my new DVD, Flip.

what is this poll suppost to tell you? Of course most people are going to watch on a standalone player, that shouldn't determine whether you add rom content.

Maybe the poll should be "do you ever watch dvd-rom content"

I have about a 1,000 DVD's and while I always listen to the commentaries and watch the BTS stuff, I don't think I have ever put a DVD in my computer to access any of the DVD-Rom content.

The DVD rom content is just one variable I'm looking to figure out. I also want to know if people are going to be seeing the overscan image (IE, when you watch a DVD in a window on your desktop as opposed to on TV) because I'm thinking about hiding something in the very edge of the screen that would only be noticable on a computer. Thanks for the input about the DVD rom content CMessineo, I'm starting to realise that I never have either. =0 Looks like this decision is a fairly simple one after all. DVD-Rom Content GONE! Poof!

Do the newer plasma/lcd "tv" screens still underscan?

Anyway, I watch on the TV if someone is watching with me...but on the computer if not.

And I have never ever looked at any of the ROM content stuff.

yeah almost all HDTV's can switch between under and overscan. If you have stuff on the sides you dont want people to see (i know exactly what your going through) figure out how to get rid of it because people are going to see it.

Man you totally deflated how I feel about my collection...200. I have never accessed DVD ROM content either just BTS stuff. I use my standalone because it feeds through my home theatre sound system and as good as my computer speakers are they're no match for the component system. My studio is all cement and I like it loud!!
