pole cats / wall spreaders

Wall spreaders can take more weight because you're generally screwing them into the wall studs. A lot depends on how much spread you have - 3ft is going to be lot sturdier than 6ft - especially with polecats.

I've hung smaller kino's off polecats before and it was ok. I prefer not to use polecats in a horizontal fashion. If you have to at least see if you can screw the ends into the wall studs.

Yes, depends on what you are doing and if you are able to screw into walls. Most times, you are not, and in those cases I don't hang more than a few tweenines to anything longer than 12 feet. 6 feet, maybe a baby or two, but be safe and make sure it seems solid. I wonder if any of the companies have suggested limits?

Good Luck!

i'm looking at a 4' run and a 6' run. cannot screw into studs. just need to hang one 4x4 kino from each one. is this safe?

I once hung a 4' 4 bank Kino stripped out of it's housing (just harness and tubes) over probably a 8' span with a polecat. It held fine.

The one with rigging (especially after you've done it) is that if you feel it's unsafe it probably is.

great success!! polecats are pretty sturdy. we ran around 6 or 7 feet and it held a kino 4x4 and felt like it could do more. polecats are my new favorite...
