Polarizing Filter - what is the best one?

ok i need to buy a polarizing filter for my new camera.

the one i use now is the formatt one that came with my formatt matte box. its ok but there are so many others out there.

the tiffen ultra polarizer and the ultra circular polarizer

can someone explain the circular vs what i assume is linear?

i know i've seen messages about the rotating for different effects but i'm a bit dense without an illustration.

Just curious- are you unhappy in some way with the results you get from the Formatt? Do you need two 4x4 pola's?

If not I doubt you will notice a difference, but it is your money.

no the formatt seems fine but i just bought my second dvx-100a and i need a second polarizer!

hmm that just gave me another question, is there any way that using a different polarizer could change the look enough that the footage shot on the cameras could actually look different?
