Here is the official website with press pack, reviews, articles and more about Polar and the making of Polar.
http://dominicjackson.info/polar/
Polar was made as an experiment, to see what we can do with no budget at all and just the resources at hand. We knew a bunch of actors and asked for locations or simply just went to shoot there with no permits. We shot on public transport, in local bars and houses, in streets and business estates. We were shocked to see the film forming into something quite special. I used experiences from my own life to write the film, having struggles with alcohol, pot and substance abuse in general. I look at what it is like to feel you do not fit in, you struggle to work and run on the hamster wheel but nothing seems to turn out right for you.
We are still seeking any form of distribution other than Amazon and would remove the listing from Amazon to sell to a potential indie distributor. We are also seeking funding for our next film using Polar as a showcase of our talents and the unique style we shot it in. I am confident that the next film will be far superior in every way, as Polar was shot with about 1-2 crew present! Me and the boom operator. I wrote, directed, shot and edited it. Even using a lot of my own music and sound design.
Anything anyone can do to help promo this film, leave a review on Amazon or IMDB..etc. We would be so grateful. We hope it is an inspiring story and film for other filmmakers.
Here is me and the main actor speaking about how and why we made it: https://youtu.be/cuqUavpy30o
I hope you enjoy our film and if you want to help please do! We need all the help we can get to get this out there and make more films!
