Pocket 3: What are your thoughts on HLG vs DLOG-M?

Hi,
I make documentaries about traditions of native peoples.
I would like to know your thoughts on Pocket 3 and HLG vs DLOG-M. If you have used them extensively, which one do you prefer?

When to use HLG or DLOG-M?

Is the dynamic range of HLG much higher than the NORMAL profile or just slightly better in video editing?
Thanks to share for your thoughts

The choice is really a question of workflow. HLG shouldn't be graded. D-LOG must be graded.
Unless you have an end-to-end pipeline to shoot in HLG, edit in HLG (with no grading), and deliver to viewers who have compatible HLG HDR monitors , don't use it.

Thanks for your suggestion. I don't have to deliver the video to the clients.
But which video quality is better?

There is no meaningful answer to that question. Better in what way?

It is a moot question anyway.
If you aren't delivering the video to clients, then you cannot ensure an HLG pipeline form start to finish -- so you should not use HLG.
Therefore, D-LOG is the correct choice out of those two options.

However, if you don't know how to grade LOG footage in Resolve, then even that would be a poor choice and you might be better off choosing a standard REC709 profile.

I know how to grade LOG well. It is not a problem for me, even because I have free time to do it.
I asked which of the two can give better video quality because I watched some comparison videos on YouTube and I noticed that HLG has better video definition.

I do not know what "better video definition" means.

But I'd never shoot HLG if I didn't have an HLG pipeline. LOG is far better for grading.
Watching some random person's footage on Youtube is meaningless unless they are an expert on the subject and know who to handle and grade LOG Footage properly. Post a link.

Do you have a camera right now that can shoot both? If so, why not shoot your own test footage. Then you'll have the answer in a few minutes.
