PMD-671 Vs. HD-P2

I'm looking to purchase a recorder and I basically have it narrowed down to these two. They seem pretty similar to me in function and price. Does anyone have any info or preference in recorders less than 1000. I basically need it for glidecam shots.
Also, should I use the recorder instead of the stock DVX xlr inputs all the time? Are these two recorders superior to the DVX's audio capabilities?

Yes they are both superior to the DVX audio... I have the 671 and I love it... but the HD-P2 accepts time code. The new cost of both units is the same and in that case I'd go with the P2.
