tbanucci,

My boys are working on it now in the carpentry department. I'm refinning the process cuz I'm making two simultaneously, ones for a friend. Don't worry, went its done, the rig will be lower in profile and simplier to fabricate. Especialy the most important component; the wheel mounts.

The new one is more accurate and will give you better repeatability in moves.

Thanks for prodding me, I'll expedite it and will be done this week.

Nice! Did you actually do that first shot in reverse or speed up the zoom in part? Did not know you did videos for Tom's Hardware, I've been to that site way too many times.

I did a dolly in and zoom, it took 3 tries to get it to focus just right and be centered, but thats real time in camera no post work...

Yea i have been the one that helped get the videos stuff going, up in till a few months ago tho we did not have our video page so the videos went un-noticed a lot.

Would you get a better (smoother) finish on the plywood by skimming it with bondo.. letting it dry, then sanding.. maybe two or three iterations. Then spray paint flat black?

Since the plans are so big 1:1 scale, where are you guys getting your plans printed at? Does Kinko's offer large scale printing for this size? If so, how much do they charge to print these plans?

According to Justyn, who made the plans in post #108 of this thread, you should be able to print them out on a regular printer as many different sheets and tape them together.

Gimme a few hours to do the "pictorials". I built 2 simultaneously, the other is for a friend.

That is completely and utterly crap. No honestly its fantastic. One of the best DIY's ive seen.

Looks great! Much lower than your first version it looks like, and a little more streamlined. Sooo..... did you make construction instructions for this one? ;)
