PluralEyes 3 will sync audio but video preview is unavailable

Hi,
I did my first serious attempt at syncing a video with seperate audio yesterday. I am using pluraleyes 3.3.4. on a windows 7 system. The video was from my GH2 which is MTS and the audio from a digital recorder. The first issue I noticed was that it came up with the message that it could sync the audio from the MTS file but not offer video preview. But on the Red Giant site it lists MTS/AVCHD as supported media. And does not list it as * PluralEyes will sync but video preview is not available. So am puzzled as to why it won't preview the file.


On exporting I could only export the synced sound not the video. My next issue is the sound files it exported (20 files in all) were when played mainly silent! With an audio section appearing some way into the file and them after about 5 mins or so the rest of the file is silent. So once imported into my NLE suite I had to chop up the files and cut out the silent sections. And align them with the video files. And tweak them to get them synconised! There must be an easier way so what am I doing wrong or missing?

Another issue I have encountered today is if you delete a file from the project and add a new one the pluraleyes software crashes with the message "pluraleyes needs to quit due to an unhandled exception" & "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation".

I can't help you with all your issues however I have been using plural eyes on and off for several versions now and the first verison that I remember allowing video preview to work with my .mts files I believe was 3.5.

Can you describe your sync project?
Are you using the plural eyes Premiere Pro extension or are you running Plural eyes in standalone mode and dropping your files into it?
Is your project one main video file from your GH4 and then the camera audio file(s) and external recorder file(s)?
It *should* allow you to sync the audio clips under your corresponding video footage and then export to your NLE the synced up sections.
While still in Plural eyes it, after syncing and before exporting, you should be able to play it and hear it synced from plural eyes (granted you won't have video preview).

When you export it asks if you want to create a new sequence with audio replaced or not. I usually have it export a sequence with all the various audio sources and then turn them off or adjust them as needed in my NLE.

I have indeed found that upgrading to 3.5 has resolved all these issues. I now just got one glitch when transfering this concert (GH2 and micro digital recorder). When Pluraleyes did it stuff one fairly small section was coloured red suggesting it could not be synchronised. In reality when played it was synchronised ad sounded fine when played through the pluraleyes timeline. However once I exported the files both as video complete and audio on its own this one bit now sounds crackly and just not quite right. All the other files which were shown as green in pluraleyes are fine. For the moment I have manually added this bit myself in my NLE software.
