plural eyes driving me nuts!

Hello im trying to make this program work for a scene with only 2 lines of dialogue. I have edited the scene using final cut pro. Im captured 5d footage using the onboard mic and have an external rode nt3 from my zoom H4n. Ive named the sequence plural eyes and dropped the nt3 audio into tracks 3&4. I hit sync but nothing happens. I was hoping it would move the track right underneath the shot. What am i doing wrong?

The sequence needs to be called "pluraleyes." Also make sure that you didn't overwrite the 5D's audio track. They need to both be present.

Thanks edinc yes i did name it correctly just not in this post. The on board audio track is still there. I figured id start with a simple scene first to get used to using this program im glad i did. Maybe my settings are all wrong im shooting 1920 by 1080 pro res hq?

I figured I'd check, simple mistakes like that get overlooked too easily. FCP needs to be running, first of all. When you click sync, it should prompt you to find the FCP project file. Does it do this? If not, then it sounds like you need to reinstall PluralEyes. After that it should start processing audio. Does it give an error or any text in the main window?

some things:

you can only have one project open. close any others. and the sequence itself must be active (click anywhere in it to do so), not the icon in your project bin, but the sequence itself.

click the Change... button and check off Try Really Hard.

btw, if this is just two lines of dialogue, you could have sync'd this manually by now. just sayin'.

Oh def but i have other scenes with lots of dialogue im in no rush this is a personal project. If i cant even sync up a line im in trble lol. Ill try really hard thanks zak.

i have one video clip on the time line with the married audio. The rode audio is right underneath it too the side. All i want is for the program to move it over. It has to be something simple. I just keep getting unsynced 000.

have you audibly verified that these two pieces are the same take? does the video clip have more than one take in it? if the clip has multiple takes, you may have to blade the clip at the cut points.

Yeah i already trimmed it ill double check to make sure im using the correct audio take. Its pretty dead on to my ear.

you can test by dumping all the audio takes in with one video clip. it will find the one that syncs with it and put the others an unsynced sequence.

Hmmm when i take 2 identical audio takes from same mic (copy) and spread them apart on different timelines it syncs them. These sound takes really sound all the same with the 5d footage after dumping everything in and hitting sync and it not working i can only think the sound guy didnt record it. Or its a setting having to do with the 5d. Thanks everyone for your help ill work on a different scene where we actually slated! tomorrow and hopefully it will work!
