Plugin text name help

Hi all,
I am looking for the name of a plugin I saw surfing recently. Thought I bookmarked the page but obviously didn't. Been surfing for two hours trying to trace it, and no luck.

Its a text plugin the brings the letters into the page spinning and flickering and fading in until you can read the words. Very impressive indeed.

Any ideas please?
Thanks
Steve

Re: Plugin text name help

Yes been through them all. The effect is like you would see in a bus or train station as they scrub their boards clean or change the text.

Thanks

Re: Plugin text name help

I can do that in AfterEffects, but don't have a plugin for FCP.

If you want, I could do it for you and send you the clip

Re: Plugin text name help

That's a very generous offer Captain Melch.
I am not ready by a mile for that stage, that's why I thought it might be a plugin and could get it and practice.

Is it fairly easy to do in AE? Could you give me a quick run through on how to attain this effect?

Thanks
Steve

Re: Plugin text name help

What version of AE are you using?? I'm not sure it can be done in 5 w/o some extra help. 6 is a bit easier.

Re: Plugin text name help

I have 6.5 for the mac just downloaded from adobe on a 30 day trial.

If its possible to knock up a basic file which I could just edit it would be fantastic of you. Any text will do if its editable.
My email is

Thanks again

Re: Plugin text name help

Steve -- This is kind of what I saw on the clip you posted... of course adding more layers etc, but... is this the text effect you are looking for?

http://homepage.mac.com/captmench/Texttest.mov

If it is, I'm can give you the basics written out. Again, layering different text would be key to getting a cool effect.

Re: Plugin text name help

Just like to say a big two thumbs up to CaptainMench. Super job and I didn't even know him.
Isn't it nice to know there are guys on this and other forums who give their time to help newbies like me. I hope in the future I can do the same for someone in a similar situation that I am in today!

Thanks again Capt. Melch!
