please tell me what I need

i want to put a ND gel on a large bedroom window....can I use the 12x12" sheets and piece them together or will this show a seam on camera?

or do have to go with the rolls which are much more expensive....

I only need to gel one window....

and how does one apply these gels to widows

You will see the seems and/or the tape used to hang the gel unless you are a very talented taper. A roll would be best, you can buy gels in larger sheets. Measure the window and look for a vendor that sells larger sheets. Alternatively you can get a roll of car window tinting and hang that. You may be able to find some one on your crew that has some larger scrap sheets of gel that you can use. If you are using tungsten lighting using CTO on a window will also cut down the amount of light and will balance the temperature.

We keep rolls of .6 and .9 ND and CTO on hand all the time for windows. They are 4ft wide.

Best way to put them on windows is to sprits the windows with water and then squeegee them on.
