Please recommend Vid-card for mac/premiere CS6

Tried doing some multicam work in CS6 with three streams and the footage was too choppy to edit. I think the main bottleneck is the Vid-card but I am also running footage and saving to a single eSata external hard drive. Maybe that is another bottleneck.

Anyways I am a bit of a noob when it comes to hardware and hope someone can provide a recommendation to speed up this computer.

Mac Pro
Quad-core Intel Xeon 2.4GHZ
17gb DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1gb
Single eSata drive
 
There are a ton of sources on the web about requirements for running and optimizing your machine for CS6. I will link a few of them. Having a video card that can be used to gpu accelerate effects and playback are one step. Multiple higher speed hard drives is definitely another important aspect.
