when i play a dvd with a dvd player into my computer premiere pro 1.5, the audio goes in the computer very high, almost distorting it. what can this be from, there is no level for me to control in pp1.5?
 
what are your system level controls set at? you know the volume control. the default is halfway...i'd leave it like that or go 3/4. too many people go max and well that does affect your audio.
 
im doing an analog capture, but you braught a good point. how can i rip a dvd into AVI files. thank you for your time
 
ah but yes in an analog capture if you have your system volume controls maxxed you are going to distort the audio because if you have your WAV or Line-in at Max and then your volume control is at max, the resulting file more than likely will be distorted. there's an audio website that discusses this in great detail...

for ripping you need software that does so...though i do not encourage because copyrighted material is protected.
 
NOVELT, it work! thank you soooo much for your help. you saved me, i do a local cabel tv show and he gives me dvds of his traveling and i have to load them and he narrates them, it always distorted. now it works fine, thank you again.
 
did you adjust the system volume? if so glad to have been of help. i started out as a musician so audio is a big thing to me.
