I'm having a bit of trouble out of nowhere...

Okay, so I have a 22min show I have to export and everytime I export it,
it chops the file off at 18min and 35 seconds and the remaining 3-4 min of the 22min show is on a second file. WHY!?

It didn't do this before when I exported...any ideas on how I can change this so I can export as ONE full file? I need to have this done for a producer by TOMORROW evening so anyone, please please please help me!

Thanks,

Norm Li

18:35 would be approximately 4gb. You're probably using a file system that only supports a maximum file size of 4gb. Maybe you're outputting to a different drive (FAT32 vs. NTFS, for example)?

I just checked the disk mgmt and it does say that it is FAT32. However, when I right click and click "Format", it says NTFS...with no FAT32 option in the dropdown menu.

Would this mean losing everything on the drive? This drive contains all of the raw footage from the TV show... uh oh. Or should I just export the file to another NTFS drive?

Thanks!

Export to another NTFS drive. And don't format the Fat32 drive with your footage on it!
He he he. A friend of mine, fellow Czech immigrant to Canada, when he bought his frist PC, loaded it up, opened the manual, started reading it with substantial use of English-Czech dictionary, and came upon this in the manual:

FORMAT:
Prepare a disk for use.
Example:
format c:

The rest is history, as was his operating system.

I bet this should go into the Guiness Book of Records under the 'Fastest dumb user symptoms' category.

Whatever you do, DON'T FORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE WITH THE FOOTAGE ON IT!
