Please Help!

I have a Panasonic PV-DV52D basic camcorder that I use to dump footage for editing instead of wearing the heads on my DVX100A and today when I tried to use it a wierd thing happened. When I load a tape in the red power light just flashes and none of the buttons work. It wont playback a tape or record, nothing! It has plenty of power but when the tape is inserted it does nothing! Any clues, please help!
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Re: Please Help!

I had a similar problem like that but a different camera. I thought the problem was the camera was too hot and probably needed a break because I abuse the crap out of it during capturing. Was your camera warm or hot? The heads might be too hot.. Or I could be wrong. Maybe my JVC sucks.

Re: Please Help!

I was using it tonight to run down batteries then fully recharge them but I did let it sit for a while then tried it again and it did the same thing.

Re: Please Help!

I stopped using my JVC for like a week.
Then I used it again and it worked! I don't know why it does that. But now It's sitting in the garage collecting dust! It's out of service. It just couldn't take the abuse..
I say don't use it for a couple of days. Then try again. If that doesn't work... Then check your warranty... I know it sucks..

Re: Please Help!

Long shot but I use the DV52 as well and sometimes the tape door is goofy. Try applying a small amount of pressure on the door and see if that does it. :-/

Dakota YOU ROCK!!!!
I played with the Camera today and this time I really pushed on the tape door and BINGO the tape loaded and the camera works again! I was being a little too careful with this camera and I guess that it needed more of a push.
Thanks to everyone who helped me I am very grateful.
