please help which AT to buy....

Ok So I have finally narrowed it down to AT for a decent starting mic....Now for which one...Do i want a long shotgun, or a short shotgun.....So please help me...It will be used for mostly dialouge work, interior and exterior....So should I go with the AT815b, AT835b, AT897.....also what do the long distance AT4071 and AT4073 sound like.....Once again mostly dialouge and room tone....Also which wind reduction boom pole set up do you all like... Thanks once again with all your help in this microphone buying decision..

it says it is for long distance, pick up...would I really need that if I got a long shotgun.....But people say the short mics are better for dv work...You tell me..what do you think???

Go with a shorter mic. It's better for interior shots, especially when you have low ceilings. It'll work pretty good outside as well.

The 4073 is a good suggestion.
