Please Help!! Trouble editing avi in premiere cs3 converted from Neo Scene

I imported some clips into cs3 and it looks fine, so I figured I'd use Neo Scene to convert my avchd footage to avi to edit. The problem is that although the clips look fine in the source panel, in the program sequence panel they are zoomed in and only dispaly a small area of the clip. I have the zoom dropdown scaled to to 'fit', no matter what i do to the zoom dropdown it still displays the zoomed footage. What is the deal??? I am new to premiere and avchd so hopefully it's a rookie mistake. Someone please help!!!!

it looks the same it did in the program sequence panel. it's zoomed in. i've played the original avi files and they look fine; so i'm not sure if this is an issue with premiere or an issue with how i converted the files using neoscene. they look to me like regular avi files so my guess is it's something with premiere.

My project was shot in 1080 24p. So how am I supposed to set up my premiere project to import those files?

make sure that your scale to frame size is on. Right click and check scale to frame size...
